A Storm, A Sore Knee, and A Pink Blouse
This little adventure of mine happened the end of May, a month after having surgery for a knee replacement. The last visit to my surgeon at this time, was to make sure my knee was flexible and strong enough to apply the brakes on my car. It was my right knee so I was wondering if I would be able to stop the car. I decided to sit in my car and applied the brake and gas pedal a few times. I was good to go.
Now, I wanted to drive! I needed some groceries and the grocery store was just a little drive. It’s an easy walk when you had two good knees,and threatening clouds were not hovering over head. I am sure I will see some friendly faces at the store.
One thunder and lightning storm had already gone through, I thought it’s probably safe to make a quick trip to the store. I’m still sitting in my car, My keys and purse are laying on the seat beside me. How much time would it take. I’m going to chance it.
Once in the store I walked down the aisles of food. Being in a friendly mood I smiled at the other customers as I usually do. This time no one made eye contact with me. I was a little taken back. I decided to give them the benefit of doubt and assumed they were preoccupied with their shopping. I checked my groceries out and walked to my car.
