The Answer to Can I Get by Without a Car?

A number of months ago, just before my car lease was up, I considered other options of transportation rather than owning a car.

My options included calling on Uber for a short distance, walking to the grocery store and Dunkin Donuts for my shopping and my special latte.

I read online that Florida retirement communities use golf carts in their everyday activities. I thought why can’t I do the same here. Living in Vermont might create a problem with freezing temperatures and high snow drifts though. Hmmh…I could work around the weather. I could buy snow tires for the golf cart. Did you know that you can register your golf cart and apply for insurance which would allow you to drive on the road. Golf carts that run on gasoline have a speed up to 30 miles an hour.That could be fun! So what could be a problem?

One Month Left on the Lease

Who knew the changes that would happen in a year. Now I am down to the line; my lease on my 2017 Toyota Camry was up in one month. The only thing I knew for certain was that I would not be resigning with the same auto dealership.

During this time the pandemic was at its full force and non-essential businesses and schools were shut down. The nagging pain in my knee was almost unbearable at this point. I was reduced to using a cane. A previous…
